The Virtual Blue Spectres are a virtual aerobatic team aimed at performing for audiences both outside and a part of the DCS community through virtual aerobatic events similar to that of VUAF and VFAT. First formed in 2015, the Spectres' main mission is to encourage, inspire and motivate virtual air show enthusiasts following an aviation-driven passion about the creative opportunities given through the incredible community and world of flight simulator aerobatics.

- New Year, New Show -
The team is reassembled early January with a transition from their "Element" paint scheme from the previous year to "Ceres" for the 2019 show season. The Blue Spectres continue to fly for two planned shows throughout the first half of the year.
A new team project is put under the works. Labeled "Project: Prismatic", the Spectres plan to enter a new phase of their virtual aerial performances through celebration of the 16 year anniversary of the Virtual Festival Of Aerobatic Teams. The show titled "Ceiling: Unlimited" in tribute to creativity and the chase for new air show environments being the driving force of the project's development.
- A New Era -
The 2018 Blue Spectres team has made a couple advancements from new paints, to added aircraft, to a completely different operating flight simulator platform. The first three-ship display, along with a brand new 2018 demo profile and the new "Element" paint, was first revealed at the 2018 YS Indian Springs Air Show.
In search of bigger, more populated crowds and better chances of exposure to the world of flight simulator aerobatics, the YSFlight Blue Spectres Jet Team had become the Virtual Blue Spectres Jet Team on the 20th of June. This followed closely by modifications to Element, including the team's shield emblem and a third jet painted upon the nose section signifying the official change into a three-ship demonstration team. It was in this year the Spectres had successfully performed at their first VFAT on Saturday, December 8th.
- Revival From Absence -
With the announcement of the 2017 YSFlight Aerobatic Expo, the Spectres were reformed and back with special L-39NG aircraft, taking the traditional blue and white paint scheme to a new level of aesthetic and named "Avaritia". The Spectres had also turned their presentation style from a "rock and roll" dependent element into a more electrifying, digital world anomaly at this time.
These special paints and aircraft would be used only for the Aerobatic Expo before transitioning to the early version of "Element", the team's current paint scheme.
- 2nd Year VNAF AirFest Celebration -
The 2016 season unfortunately consisted of only one show; the 2016 VNAF AirFest. It was the organization's fifth and final year of hosting it's annual YS summer event, and the Spectres' second year participating in the air show schedule. The aircraft had not went through any paint modifications, thus performing over the skies of Vuelo in their prior Skyline designs. Afterwards, the team experienced a massive drawn out segment of inactivity through the rest of the year up until September of 2017.
- The Beginning Of An Era -
The team is formed on the 3rd of June 2015, days before the YSFlight Pensacola Air Show. What started out as a mere concept team had grown into a fully fledged organization. The first iteration of the team consisted of two members, Kujo and MaxG, and continued to perform the 2015 demo profile until the end of the year.
Before the 2015 VNAF AirFest, the aircraft undergo a repaint from the "Prism" paint scheme to "Shark" and sport the VNAF Aerobatics Logo upon their tails until the YS Reykjavik Air Racing Trials in October. There, the aircraft are brought to another paint scheme change; a gradient based style nicknamed "Skyline". The aircraft would remain in these colors for the next upcoming year.
